Payne Avenue is located in Knoxville, Tennessee. We are truly blessed by your presence and your participation in our virtual faith community. In Matthew 28: 19, Jesus gave us our mandate: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."  (KJV) We are here on the web, and we are live at 2714 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave. all the time.

mission statement

The Mission of Payne Avenue Baptist Church is to win the lost to Christ according to Matthew 28:18-20.

  • By Lifting the Savior
  • By Loving the Sinner
  • By Leading Believers to Discipleship

We will accomplish this mission as we establish an atmosphere that fosters soul winning, discipleship and Christian maturity; equipping the saints for the work of ministry, and corporate worship while seeking to minister to human needs in the name of Jesus Christ. Do you want to have a better life? Get the Plan of Salvation. payneave@bellsouth.net.

The real church is a church that embraces the true mission and purpose of the church as left for us by Jesus Christ Himself,  "19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even into the end of the world. Amen".   (Matthew 28:19-20 KJV).

Let us remember our mission statement, which directs us in accomplishing this worthy commission.
